Bedlam Corners Store Update--courtesy of Debbie Earthrowl

Hello to everyone!
Many things are happening with the restoration of the store! First --- The next fundraiser is THIS Sunday, January 9, from 1 PM until 4 PM at the West Hebron Fire Department Dining Hall (on Route 30 right in the middle of the village of West Hebron). This will be a Roast Beef Dinner, and those who have been to the Hebron Fire Department Dinners know how delicious this will be! They are suggesting a $10 donation for the meal, and some of Jon Katz' photograph note cards will also be available for purchase. Each note card has been signed by Jon.
PLEASE publicize this to your friends and others on your e-mail lists!
Next --- an update on work at the store ... Don Coldwell, Marie, and others have continued to work on taking out pieces of floor, ceilings, and walls that need to be removed. Dan Johnson and his crew closed in one side of the roof yesterday, and I anticipate that the other side will be closed in today!!!!!!! This is very exciting because it will help prevent further damage from the weather. Paul Z. and his son worked to remove the rubble around the building to allow better access for work.
NEEDED -- people and/or trucks to move some of the furnishings and items that were salvagable to a storage unit in Salem. We will gather at the store beginning at around 10 AM on Saturday, January 8, to transport items. We could especially use a couple of folks that feel strong for a few of the items. (It would be a struggle for Marie and I alone!) Also, a truck with a bigger bed than my husband's "baby" truck would be great! For those of you who have electrical or construction items to donate, please contact Bill Clary. He is kindly coordinating all of that, and can let you know what would be useful and where to bring it.
Thanks so much! Thanks to everyone for your continued prayers and support! This is truly a community effort. There are many things going on behind the scenes that are also so helpful. If we were to put together a list of all who are contributing in one way or another, I think that we would all be shocked at the beautiful outpouring of care for Marie, Zack, and this store that has meant so much to so many over the years. Again, thank you for sharing this with others! Blessings in this blessed new year! Debbie (854-3203)
